We made it home...finally!

I thought that you would all like to know that we all made it home safe and sound. It was an adventure until the very end though. Our flight out of Honduras was 40 min late, which ultimately ended up in us arriving in Houston at the time that we were supposed to be boarding our flight to PDX. Picture this... 17 people (all with carry-on luggage of backpacks etc.) and 27 pieces of checked baggage racing through the customs section of the Houston airport. The exact quote from the customs agent was "You are all heading to Portland? Drop your bags here and run!" Then the race was on. All of us were running through the airport in various stages of dress (after going through security) trying to make the only flight to PDX left. It had to have been close to 3/4 of a mile to the gate. What a zoo! It was also fun. Like being on the Amazing Race with no prize money. Only a chance to see our families after 17 days of being gone. We all arrived to our homes somewhere between 1:30 and 2:30 AM on Sunday and were all at church to share on Sunday morning. Then it was home to crash.

What a trip! I will try to update the site later this week with some of my pictures to give you some perspective of what it was like. I also want you to see Mom & Dad in action in front of 400-500 students at a school we visited. They were great and many were saved. I believe that the count was 58 adults and over 100 children received Christ while we were there. We could never share all of what we did and saw, but we will give it our best shot.

Love to all.
MLP
