La Pine Addition
Well, I now have some pictures of the new porch that Dad and I had built onto the front of the vacation house. We had a wonderful vacation. The boat we purchased allowed us to go fishing in comfort. And we did catch fish. They're mighty tasty, too.
Enjoy the photos...just pretend they're in order.
These first 3 photos are of the day that the corner post pilings were poured. Right after the cement was poured into the holes a very impressive thunder and lightning storm began and the rain came down by the bucket load...it was absolutely incredible!!

The porch is cedar and will be stained a light golden color. The railing is at the ends of the porch and the steps but not across the front.

(Don't pay any attention to the date on the pictures. They were actually taken on Aug 22 & 23, not Jan 1, 2004!)

The ceiling area over the porch is open to the rafters and is covered in knotty pine. It will be clear finished.

There will be plenty of room for the old rocking chair on the porch. (Second Hand Lions ring any bells!?)

Well, that all for now. We'll post more after the staining, and when the rocking chair is occupied!

Love to all, Mom

The house looks really cool. I am glad you are getting to make the little changes that make it more like home. It looks beautiful.
